Erick Rarick

Erick Rarick, Countertenor, is one of San Diego's premier choral voices. In his youth he was the Head Chorister of the St. Paul's Cathedral Boys Choir and made solo appearances with the San Diego Opera, San Diego Symphony and San Diego Master Chorale.

He now specializes in Baroque and Renaissance music and is a founding member of Bach Collegium San Diego, the Pacific Bach Project, and San Diego Pro Arte Voices. His time with the Collegium has provided opportunities to perform along side Orchestra Nova, Musica Angelica, and The Whole Noyse as well as internationally known conductor Richard Egarr.

A consummate supporter of the choral arts, he can frequently be found donating his time to assist various church, high school and college ensembles with their programs. Over the years he has also had the privilege to sing with the Mainly Mozart Festival, the La Jolla Symphony Chorus and many other local ensembles both large and small.

He is currently employed as a Section Leader and Soloist at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Del Mar.

Bach Collegium San Diego

Bach Collegium San Diego (BCSD) engages audiences with accessible, historically informed performances and educational programs featuring repertoire from the Renaissance, Baroque, and early Classical eras. Founded in 2003 to diversify the musical offerings in the San Diego community, BCSD was founded by Ruben Valenzuela, who remains at the helm as BCSD’s Music Director. During its thirteen seasons, BCSD has presented a wide variety of historically significant works, including many San Diego premieres. Works are performed using the instrumentation and techniques of the period in which they were written. BCSD engages the country’s finest early musicians, bringing world-class historically-informed performance to the greater San Diego area through ten mainstage concerts and six admission-free lunchtime performances. Through its excellent programming and exemplary performances, BCSD is considered one of the premier early music ensembles on the West Coast and is quickly becoming known as one of the foremost ensembles to watch in the United States.
